Knowledge.
Understand the relevant law, family court procedures and the principles guiding decisions about children.
Because separation shouldn’t mean losing a parent.
01 — Our purpose
Separation can change the structure of a family. It shouldn’t automatically mean the loss of a meaningful relationship.
We believe children deserve the opportunity to maintain safe, healthy relationships with the people who love and care for them.
K.I.D.S. helps parents understand and navigate separation and family proceedings with greater clarity and preparation. Our focus is simple: informed decisions and protecting safe, meaningful parent-child relationships.
Why K.I.D.S. exists02 — The K.I.D.S. Approach
Difficult moments deserve a considered response. Our approach is built around four principles that turn uncertainty into understanding.
Understand the relevant law, family court procedures and the principles guiding decisions about children.
Understand your circumstances, identify relevant information and distinguish evidence from assumptions.
Establish clear, realistic, child-focused objectives and understand the appropriate next steps.
Approach preparation, communication and decision-making with structure, discipline and purpose.
Knowledge. Insight. Direction. Strategy.

We’re not here to take the mother’s side.
We’re not here to take the father’s side.
We’re here to keep children at the centre of the conversation.
Where it is safe and in their best interests, children should be supported in maintaining meaningful relationships with both parents.
04 — Our story
Children deserve to be
at the heart of the process.
K.I.D.S. began with a personal experience of navigating the family justice system.
Faced with complex proceedings, the founder discovered the importance of preparation, legal understanding, clear evidence and strategic thinking.
That experience became the inspiration for something bigger: an organisation helping other parents access information and approach difficult situations with greater confidence.

Real experience. Real conversations. No judgement.
I’m David Walsh.
I’m a dad, a business owner and someone who’s experienced the family court system first-hand.
I know how overwhelming the process can feel, particularly when you’re trying to make sense of everything while getting on with everyday life.
I was fortunate to have some good people around me. People I could speak to, learn from and lean on when things got difficult.
Not everyone has that.
And that’s one of the reasons I started K.I.D.S.
I’m not a solicitor, and I can’t promise to have all the answers. But I believe sharing experiences, having conversations and helping people find reliable information can make a difference.
If you’d like to get in touch, ask a question or simply connect, you’re welcome to reach out.
I’m running K.I.D.S. alongside being a dad and running my business, so I may not always be able to respond immediately. But I’ll do my best to get back to you when I can.
A more informed way forward
Whether you’re facing separation or trying to understand family court proceedings, K.I.D.S. is being developed to help.
